Cory, the Knight and the Others is an extraordinary journey into the magical world of dance and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. By chance, the protagonist finds herself locked inside the Costanzi Theatre, where she meets a charming and mysterious young woman—apparently a dancer—who, like Virgil, guides her through the discovery of a world previously unknown to her: the art of dance.
The history of dance, intertwined with the autobiographical storyline, runs throughout the novel and is accompanied by descriptions of various traditional dances, the world’s most prestigious theatres, and the earliest ballets upon which, like solid foundations, the entire classical repertoire was built.
The book also explores the visual arts and cinema, both of which have portrayed dance in different ways over the centuries. It addresses health-related topics as well, including proper nutrition for dancers, eating disorders, and the harmful effects of certain unhealthy habits.
The story is enriched by unexpected and moving encounters with some of the great personalities of dance and music who helped make these art forms immortal and universal.
